Named a top modern-day explorer by Canadian Geographic, Aaron is an adventure-learning pioneer who has covered thousands of miles and spent more than a decade skiing and dogsledding the circumpolar Arctic and exploring the remotest regions of the world while delivering unique online learning experiences for students worldwide.

A professor at the University of Minnesota (UMN) and director of the Learning Technologies Media Lab there, Aaron is a laureate of the prestigious Tech Awards, which honors innovators from around the world who are applying technology to benefit humanity. He is a fellow for both the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and the UMN Institute on the Environment.

Aaron’s work and adventures have been featured on CNN, the Weather Channel, CBC, NPR, and more. He has a forthcoming documentary in 2017 with Twin Cities Public Television about the changing Arctic.
